Went to Scarefest for the first time yesterday.
Had an amazing time.
Im not going to go into any detail about the mazes, so as not to spoil them for others who are going.
Got to the park about 12pm, it was pretty quiet, most rides we 10 mins or less queue time, we walked on Oblivion every time.
Theming is excellent in some areas, the entrance and Towers Street in particular, but sparse in other areas which was a shame.
Spent the afternoon doing as many rides as possible with a couple of beers squeezed in too, waiting for it to get dark before heading to Terror of the Towers. It was an excellent maze, quite full on with excellent effects (and horrid smells!). Really enjoyed it.
Got a couple of dark rides on Oblivion and Nemesis which were superb, before heading back to the hotel for the other 2 mazes - The Boiler Room and Field of 1000 Screams.
We had The Boiler Room booked for 9pm, got there, queued 15 mins and were literally about to walk in, when the power totally shut down. I think the guests in there must have crapped themselves!!
Waited about 10 mins and a staff memeber told us if we had Field tickets, to head down there as there were only a few people queueing.
SO, 55 mins later we finally get to the front of the Field queue lol.
This was my favourite maze by far, you really got immersed in the story line and it is pretty chaotic in some sections ... there was much stumbling and legging it to get away from some of the scenes!!
Went back to The Boiler Room, another power outage but we hung on and waited. 20 mins later we were in! This was good too, but my least favourite of the three. Its quite claustrophobic though and good fun.
All in all an excellent experience, I recommend it to anyone.
Pics are a bit crappy as they are from my phone, but you get the general idea.

I was a little worried about the power...thought we might miss out on The Boiler Room totally, but luckily it was all sorted.
You should make sure you go next year, it is such an excellent event! |

Great trip report Dylan!
I have always wanted to go to Alton Towers Scarefest but it is far away from where i live. Might try and persuade my friend to maybe make a trip next year
Glad you had a good time and those mazes sound scary Especially the field of 1000 screams maze |

You should definitely go next year, it was superb.
Probably worth spending a couple of days there because of the distance, and extra Scarefest stuff, it was quite a lot to squeeze into one day! We were on our feet from 11am until 11.30pm getting it all done! |
